Recycled Jeans with Handmade Flowers

 Handbags made from old jeans pants....don't they look funky and cool . I added the handmade flowers to give more girly and trendy look. Mansi from Diecuts & more showed me how to make the flowers which are on the first bag through Skype chat (awesome idea). I attached them to a safety pin so that the flowers can be removed from the bag whenever needed. I covered the entire flower with matte decoupage so that it will not get squeezed up.

These were made from different style jean one with a straight pocket . Plaited strips of jeans for the handle. Added some flowers to hide the button.

 This bag was made from my daughters jeans, she loves it.

Primary Colors Card and Rubberband Bracelet

I started making this card for PTT Color/Picture challenge. I wanted to use only the primary colors for this project so I found 2 different pattern sheets. I tried to keep it very simple just focussing the colors. Hand cut the star from the pattern paper and cardstock attached it with the brad.....added the sentiment with a safety pin.

Rubberband bracelet, I saw this on the youtube. They made it with the rainbow loom...I don't have that tool but I used the same technique to make this bracelet....my kids loved it and they also made more for their friends.

One Stroke Painting

One Stroke Painting was started by Donna Dewberry, its a decorative painting.With one stroke painting you can easily learn to "Shade and Highlight"all in one stroke. I learnt one stroke painting through books and videos (let me tell you I'm not an artist).Once I mastered the different strokes it was easy to complete the pictures.

Desk Clock and notepad with Acrylic Frame

Tic Tock Tic Tock.....
For quite sometime I wanted to make a small clock but I was not sure where to get the inner workings of the clock . Just couple of days back I found a clock repair shop , there they had the clock mechanism for Rs.100 . I was planning to do a video tutorial or at least a picture tutorial, but I was so impatient to see the end result which was worth it.

Step by Step Instruction

• Die cut sprightly sprocket from copper cardstock and stuck the shapes to the circle (spellbinders small circle die). For the small gears I added a brad.
• Once the glue dries apply 2 coats of Mod Podge Gloss Finish.
• With the embossing folder emboss white cardstock . 
• I used a cotton ball to color the card with distress inkpad , layer by layer I built the color to match the copper card .
• Trimmed a dark brown shimmer card to 5"x 7" to fit the acrylic frame
• Stuck the embossed card on top of the brown card and then inserted it into the frame
• Tie a brown ribbon to the frame
• For the label diecut from a white card , color it with the inkpad and stamp the wording
• Using foam dots I stuck the label to the frame
• For the pen holder I took 2" x 4" brown card , wrapped around pen and stuck it to the notepad (3"x 3")
• At last the clock , once the mod podge dried I stuck the clock working to the shape. For easy battery change I used a strip of magnet on the clock and the frame.

Peacock Acrylic Frame Notepad

Few months back when I was in US I found this Acrylic Frame in a craft store for a dollar (Rs. 56). First thought was to add a 8" x 10" photo and decorate around the edges . After browsing I found this idea of creating a desk notepad.

 The picture shows all the materials I used for this Project.

In my video I have shown how I made the flower and glittered them . For this project I was looking for a real peacock feather but couldn't find them , fortunately I had a feather die. To match the colors of the paper I heat embossed them with WOW embossing powder (Itsy Bitsy). I did the same for the peacock chipboard shape from Itsy Bitsy which I have explained on the video.

Made a wire charm (my previous post) to match the feather look of the project. Tied the charm to the ribbon made a bow and attached it to the acrylic frame using hot glue gun. Using a purple twine added the pen to the notepad . Finished the notepad with white rhinestones and half pearls.

Wire Feathery Charm

The inspiration for this charm came from a scrapbook paper pack called Pretty as a Peacock. I was using a peacock feather patterned paper for my acrylic frame notepad project and I was in need of a charm to match the paper.

With 20 gauge craft wire I made a leaf/feather shape design , added a bead to match the color of the paper. Made 3 of these charms and added them to a ring with spacer beads. Below is the video instruction for the charm.

Simple to Sparkly

I love to buy slippers and handbags (isn't all girls like that).....I was looking for a trendy casual black slipper but it was very hard to find , either heel are flat or too pointy , very simple or very flashy , so I thought why don't I make one myself. 

Cake Decorating

I made this cake for my hubby's birthday. I'm used to making cakes but not icing them, this is my first attempt at cake decorating. My cousin showed me which tools to buy for dressing up the cake with rosettes , swirls and shell designs. I had to make everything from scratch, couple of days before the b'day I prepared the buttercream icing. Next day baked the cake and allowed the cake to cool for couple of hrs in the refridgerator. The hardest part for me was to level the icing on the top. Once its smooth and even , I added the border and the flowers.
After cutting the cake my elder kid took half of the cake to her school and had a mini party.

Recipe for Buttercream Icing

Unsalted Butter - 250gms

Icing Sugar - 250gms

3D Wall Hanging

Hi.....I'm back after a long long summer vacation.We went to meet our cousin and friends in US for a month ,then another trip to Malayasia with my brother's family. At last we ended our vacation with all of us going to a resort in Pondy .We all had an awesome 

time together.

When I went to US, I got lots of goodies like memory box dies, d-lite dies, stamps, embossing folders and many many more. So once I settled after holidays, I did some reorganizing to my craft room to make way for my new stuffs, that's when I found this canvas (6"x 8").

First for the background I played with the pearl paints just to get the desired effect.Once the paint dried added the flower stickers, then covered the entire surface with decoupage medium so that it gives a blended effect.

Next I cut out large window die ( cheerylynn) 4 times , glued it together to give the raised look. Each flowers were cut out from white cardstock , pressed with embossing folder , colored them with Tim holtz's distress inkpads to match the color of the background.  

Before creating the flower I embossed them with gold embossing powder.

Those butterflies are from Memory box, I added some glitter to give some sparkly look to the picture. Finished them off by adding some gold beads.

Dies used  are Memory box Vivenne butterfly, Pippi butterfly and darla butterfly. For the flowers Sizzix Tattered flowers, Sizzilits Tatered flower garland and Joycrafts flower 5.

Quilled Christmas tree card

For last year Christmas I made this quilled card . I wanted to try something different ,so first I tried with a strip of quilling paper but it was too flimsy and got squeezed very easily maybe if I stuck 3 or 4 together it would have worked but I didn't have that much patience. So then I made different size circles and formed the shape. Now time to build the tree....I started from the base so that I can align it with the card then I just arranged the rest to form the tree . At last made the tree twinkle with gemstones.
