Drawing ink/ Mixed Media Card

As I was browsing for alcohol inks I found Tim Holtz video on how to create various background. Since I didn't have alcohol ink I tried it with waterproof drawing ink.

I used drawing ink and blending ink on glossy card to create these backgrounds.

For the green card....first layer the Memorybox texture shine stencil , apply the the blending ink.On top of it use the drawing ink to get that stenciled look.
Once it dried I stamped the images with Archival Ink.

Punched the butterflies with Martha Stewart Punch.

For the pink card I used Heroarts Script stamp.

I wanted to have a see through butterfly so I stamped and embossed on a OHP (acetate) sheet with Sizzix stamp and die set.

With Jewelry wire I made the word "Cherish".

Teachers Day Gift

Notepads are easy to decorate and great for gifting.  I'll start with the one I made for the teachers.

My notepad size is 3 x 5 inches .The red card measures 5 1/8 x 7 3/8 , score at 3 1/8 , 3 1/2 3 7/8.
I used spellbinders circle and scalloped circle for the center. The apples were cut with Cricut Machine (Plantin School book cartridge).Add a bow,few rhinestones and a pen.....VOILA gift is ready!!!

I also made a coordinating Key Chain mini-post-it notepad...... I personalized the keychain with the alphabet stamp.

Atlast I made these Post-it-Notepads for my crafter friends.....in this I used Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and also added lots of glitter to it.To keep the notepad closed I added a brad.

“Getting To Know Me” Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!!!
I was tagged by my friend Rupa otherwise known as “Recycling Queen”……visit her blog rupastofa.blogspot.in to know more about her projects.
When I first heard about the blog hop I tried to track the person who started it but after few hours of search I lost my energy to go on. Its very interesting to see how blog hop chain keeps  going.
At the end of this post I will also tag 2 more person to keep this blog hop going.
Why do I craft / blog?
My fascination with paper started with origami at the age of ten. I was excited to see how a single sheet of paper can be turned into different forms. Thanks to my mom who nurtured my passion for papercrafts . Another big thanks to my husband who encourages me with my expensive hobby Winking smile . I was amazed to see how a plain card can be turned into a piece of art.

How does your writing/creating
process work?

My inspirations comes from magazines or hopping from one blog to another. If I find a technique or a sketch which is interesting I pick one element in that and create a whole new concept around that.

I’m a person who like to see the end result immediately ,for Cardmaking its takes about 1/2 hr to one hour. For boxes / mixed media or jewellery making it takes maximum time of 4 hrs. Mostly within a day I try to finish my project.

Card Swap

Last month I met with my crafting buddies at Clay Bistro (Bangalore). We decided to have a card swap and the theme for it was Double Twisted Card with flowers. All of us had a marvelous time with coffee , masala chai , strawberry shake and a mini game to pick the name of the friend to give the card.

Birthday Gift Box

Hi friends I'm back after a long breakkkkkkk......two months of summer vacation, had fun with family and friends. Now I'm back to blogging , first I'll start with my gift box.

I made a 4" x  5" box with a lid . I had to use two 12 x 12 sheets of brown card (Itsy Bitsy) to make a box of this size.
I made the base with 6" x  6" card , scored 1 " on all sides. Snipped the corners and made it into a box base. Cut a piece of card to 5"x 10" and score 1" ,5" and 9". Stuck around the base starting with the 1" section .Cut another card to 5"x 8" scored at 4" and wrapped it around the the
base to form the sides.
For the Lid I used 61/8 x 61/8 scored 1" on all sides.
Using the DCWV Tradewinds stack cut 4 panels for the sides of the box. Recently I bought Heartfelt Creations Majestic bloom die and
stamp. In one cut I got 12 flowers....colored the flowers with distress inkpad , shaped them using embossing tool and added seed beads to the center. Glittered the edges of the flower. Adhered the flowers and leaves (Elizabeth craft die- Curvy Leaves ) to the lid and to one of the panels.
On another side I used chipboard pocket watch (Itsy Bitsy) colored it with touch marker. And for the other panels I used diecuts from spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets. At last added the sentiments to the box.

Mixed Media Canvas

The inspiration for this project came from Gabrielle Pollacco....she has many video tutorials on her website "Such a pretty mess".

For this I used pattern papers from Itsy Bitsy. With mod lodge I stuck layer by layer to get the desired effect. Next I added paint and Faber castell gelato.

On the side I used masking technique for the word. I used chipboard alphabets, sprayed on top of it with mist and added wink of Stella clear glitter.

For the girl I didn't use the template which I found on Gabriella website, I created my own template, if anyone wants the template leave your email on the comment box.

I used Tim holtz distress ink to highlight the girl and did some doodling with permanent marker.

Also did some stamping and at last added some rub-ons around the edges.
