Cottage Rose Side table

Hello Friends
I've been wanting to refurbish this piece of furniture for sometime.....this side table is one of the oldest furniture in my house, my hubby bought it when he was in college in US.....that's close to 18 years.

First Step
Cleaned the table with soap water and then did some light sanding just to the get rough surface. I dismantled the table so that it will be easier to paint.

Second Step
I went with Folkart Home Decor Bavarian Chalk paint ( from thecraftshop.in). I had to give three coats to cover the base color, it dries super fast.

Third Step
With the Monte Marte modelling paste and craftslane stencil ,I did the rose and left it to dry for 2 hours....colored it with chalk paint.

Fourth Step
Thanks to Diana from dreamfactory for putting together the images from Graphics fairy. Printed them on Inkjet Waterslide decal paper. Arranged it on the table to see how it looks. Since I didn't have the decal solution ,I used Mod Podge for sticking the images.

Fifth Step
Added a rub-on border to the sides.

Sixth Step
To finish gave 3 coats of varnish, that sealed the decals to the table.

A Cup of Tea

My very First Art Journal.
This morning when I woke it was dark at 6 am....I made myself a Cup of Tea and looked out of the window that's when the sun rose.....it was a hazy morning so the sun like yellow circle in the sky....
That's when the idea struck for my journal.... I start my day with a cup of tea ,so why not start my journal the same way.
Did some research online on how to create the background....with the help of Gelatos created the sunrise background.

Daily morning I wake up to the sound of pigeons ,since I couldn't find a pigeon stamp I drew a tree and added a bird to it with black marker and stamp.

Next Tim Holtz Tea time die....shaded them with distress ink and added Kaisercraft rose to the cup.

Added the sentiments....to make the sentiments little hazy, sprayed it with water.

Heart N Heart Card

At Simply Create Too the challenge this month is
I started with the center heart for both the cards.

I found this simple pic of heart gem on the web, with the help of Design Space I converted it into a cut file.

As the background added rows of  hearts and added the sentiment with Cricut (cricut wrote for me :)).For the finishing touch added glitter to it.

As for the second card the center heart was made with music background stamp. Long time ago I remember seeing this embellishment somewhere(no idea whether in a store or web)so just tried to recreate it.

I used the same writing and the cutout hearts from the previous card to create this card background.
